Beef Schnitzel with Gravy

The veal or beef schnitzel with gravy has been a very popular dish on pub menus for decades. The schnitzel is a thinly sliced piece of beef or veal crumbed and pan or deep fried until golden brown. The schnitzel is usually served with a side of chips and crisp green salad and topped with a rich brown gravy. Other variations see the beef schnitzel served with a selection of seasonal vegetable with or without chips. The schnitzel has lasted the test of time in Australian pubs and has integrated well into the modern pub menu and can be in a pubs of all styles.
