Austral Hotel Colac

Austral Hotel Colac

One of the largest and more popular pubs in the western district town of Colac, The Austral Hotel is said to date back to the 1880’s when it first opened as the Brewers Arms. The Art Nouveau styled building that still stands today is dated as 1904 and this is when the pub got its name the Austral Hotel. Despite many renovations over the years , the addition of a TAB, drive through bottle shop, pokies and a nightclub. the building has not lost any of its charm. Several extensions have been added over the years and have blended in very well. In recent years the interior has had a makeover with the main bar and bistro’s 80’s decor make way for a modern rustic feel with exposed brickwork and timber flooring.
